Ahmedabad, India: Enterprise technology company Cygnet.One has launched an Agentic AI-powered Accounts Payable Intelligence Platform aimed at automating invoice processing and financial workflows for enterprises.

The platform brings invoice processing, tax compliance, e-invoicing and enterprise integrations into a unified environment. According to the company, its AI agents are designed to perform several of the checks traditionally handled by accounts payable teams while routing exceptions and decisions requiring judgement to human reviewers.

Invoices entering through email, vendor portals, APIs or manual uploads can be automatically read and their information extracted.

AI agents can then perform tasks including vendor and bank verification, duplicate-invoice detection, GST and tax compliance checks and three-way matching between invoices, purchase orders and goods receipt notes.

Cases requiring human judgement can be routed for approval, while invoices that clear the required checks can move forward for posting into an organisation's ERP system.

The approach reflects a broader shift in enterprise AI from systems that primarily generate or analyse information toward AI agents capable of carrying out multi-step workflows.

Targeting complexity in enterprise finance

Accounts payable operations can become increasingly complicated as organisations deal with large numbers of vendors, invoice formats, business entities and approval processes.

Human review remains part of the workflow

Rather than removing people entirely from accounts payable processes, the platform follows a human-in-the-loop approach.

This means routine checks can be handled automatically while exceptions, approvals and decisions requiring judgement remain with finance personnel.

The company says the platform can also work with organisations at different stages of automation.

Businesses still processing invoices manually can use it to automate repetitive steps, while organisations that already use optical character recognition can retain those systems and automate processes that occur after extraction.

Enterprises with existing AP platforms can similarly use the technology to address specific workflow gaps rather than necessarily replacing their current infrastructure.
